My Future
- Mind Map
16 Personalities
What did the written results say?
My written results told me that I am a protagonists; who tend to strive to have a positive impact on others/the world around them and are born leaders with their passion and charisma.
What did the data suggest?
The data showed I am a extraverted, intuitive, judging, turbulent and tend to answer with my feelings. Suggesting I am outgoing, rather then using evidence I go with what I am feel is true, a self-conscious perfectionist concerned with how others feel about me; orderly and controlled with all situations/tasks.
How accurate was it?
I believe my results were very accurate, I love to plan ahead with everything keeping control of the task at hand; I am not afraid to step into the leader role when in a group activity making me outgoing. I do tend to care a little too much how others think and do hope I make positive impacts on the people around me.
Did you learn something surprising about yourself that you never considered before?
I did learn that when making decisions I apparently majority of the time go with how I feel is the right answer/decision rather then using actual evidence to back up my points/reasoning this is something I never realised I might do.
What words do you think describe you accurately?
I would say the words that best described me from the test would be; Extraverted, thoughtful, leader and passionate the reason being because I do perceive myself to be outgoing and confident when in busy situations and like to take charge. I am also very passionate when it comes to a specific task/topic I enjoy and hope to be as thoughtful as possible of the people around me. I also found that unrealistic was quite fitting as well as I may plan too much in a short time space.
What strength did it identify? Do you agree?
The test Identified that a strength of being a protagonist is being receptive, although having strong opinions I am said to not be closed minded, excepting others opinions may be different to my own and are open to allow others to express their own truths. I do agree with this strength as I hope I do allow others to also express their opinions even if they are different to my own, and am happy to be challenged.
Is there anything you agree with and would like to improve?

University Open days:
On Saturday the 5th of November I attended Nottingham Trent open day; from this event I was able to gain a better understanding on what my course requirements were and the modules the course entailed.
I also had a look at the student accommodation and a campus tour, showing the recourses available to me as a student.
On Saturday the 12th of November I attended West London university open day; from this event I was able to navigate where I would be studying, in this case the met film school but still a student under UWL.
On Wednesday the 7th of December I attended Falmouth university open day; from this event I discovered a specialised editing course which seemed perfect for me.
Looking around at all the recourses, the green screen room, stop-motion room. There was so much space for me to create in.

Draft 1
I love the freedom editing gives me, since joining college I have discovered a passion for editing; I am able to take a piece of work that I filmed with a group and bring it together in my own style. I learn new skills every time I go to edit a project on Avid enabling me to improve for next time, for example how to sync sound, green screen, cut aways and so much more. I am currently studying a level 3 diploma in film and Tv at Canterbury college, this course has taught me everything I know about creating from pre-production planning and script to production set up; in how to use the camera, setting up three-point lighting, audio settings and finally post-production editing and analysis. With every practical task I find myself wanting to push further for next time after outlining areas of improvement, I therefor believe continuing with a Film and Tv course will provide me with the resources needed and people who share the same drive to create these projects. Despite my lack in previous experience to college, I have always had a passion for movies, breaking down what goes into a scene and the people involved, watching behind the scenes footage to gain the knowledge on how movies create such magnificent illusions and stunts. Alongside my interest in editing, I also enjoy directing as it allows me to bring the ideas everyone has in the group together and to life with an overview of all the areas on the set; a personal favourite director of mine is Wes Anderson with his beautiful sets and satisfying shots. In my own time I like to film days out with my friends and holidays and then piece them together on cap-cut to create home movies, that I can then look back on; I also thoroughly enjoy swimming at the gym but also the beach when it’s nice weather but occasionally when it's cold. During my time at college, I was fortunate enough to take part in some work experience with KMTV at the university of Kent; during my time there I watched the filming process from behind the scenes seeing them cut from camera to camera and talk through the earpieces to ensure all questions are asked, the following day I was even able to edit a segment of the tv show myself overall a really cool experience looking into the real world of filming; and is where I started to take an interest into editing further. I believe I am a very eager learner once something sparks my interest and hope from this course, I will gain more experience in all the areas that go into filming to then secure an understanding that editing is the right path for me to pursue a career in. I hope you can consider me to be a part of this course at your university and look forward to hearing from you.
Draft 2
I love the freedom editing gives me, since starting college I have discovered my passion for editing; the way I can take a piece of work filmed in a group and bring it to life in my own style; it can make or break a movie with the immense worlds and effects it can create, tying together little details to make a story whole. Using avid, every time I edit a new piece of work, I find myself learning new skills improving each new project, for example how to sync sound, green screen, cut aways, colour correction and both sound/visual effects. I am a student studying a level 3 diploma in film and Tv at Canterbury college. This course has taught me everything I know about creating from pre-production planning and script to production set up; in how to use the camera, setting up three-point lighting, audio settings and finally post-production editing and analysis. With every task feedback there’s always room for development, I therefor try to push every practical task to the best it can be, I believe continuing with a film and Tv course will provide me with the recourses and people who share the same drive, to progress the projects further. Alongside my interest in editing, I also enjoy directing in group projects; I find it allows me to bring the ideas in the group to life expressing lots of creativity with the opportunity to experience all the areas of production. A personal favourite director of mine is Wes Anderson, his movies have the most wonderful set-design and satisfying shot types; I also enjoy his notorious slow-motion shots and mixture of mediums as he incorporates both stop-motion and animation in a variety of his films, for example the chase scene in ‘The Grand Budapest hotel’ and the entity of ‘’Isle of Dogs’’. Wes Anderson was also a big inspiration for my final year one project, through online research to gain an understanding on the type of colour pallets to use to express emotions, his own movies analysing the shot-types and other short films that would help me to structure my own, I was able to create a silent short film incorporating his style. During my time at college, I was fortunate enough to take part in work experience at the university of Kent’s KMTV; during my time there I was able to witness what it’s like to create an episode for one of their shows, sitting in the editing suit I could see them cutting from each camera, communicating with the host and cinematographer to ensure everything ran smoothly, the following day I was even able to edit a segment of the tv show myself, overall an experience I won’t forget looking into the real world of filming; and is where I started to see the many possibilities a career in the industry could take me. Despite my lack in previous experience to college I have always had a passion for movies, it fascinates me breaking down what goes into specific scenes, the people involved, watching behind the scenes footage/documentaries to gain an understanding as to how movies create such magnificent sets, illusions and stunts. In my own time I film days out with my friends and holidays with family to later edit into a home movie that we can all look back on; a hobby of mine is swimming I tend to go mostly at the gym but the beach whenever possible; prior to lock-down I would volunteer at the cat’s protection summer and winter fairs helping out on the stall/food stand, which I hope to get back into. I believe I am a very eager learner once something sparks my interest and hope from this course, I will gain more experience in all the areas that go into filming to then secure an understanding of the write pathway for me to pursue a career in. I hope you can consider me to be a part of this course at your university and look forward to hearing from you.

I am currently studying a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Film and TV course at Canterbury College. This course has taught me everything I know about creating video-based projects from pre-production planning and script to production set up; in how to use the camera, setting up three-point lighting, audio settings and finally post-production editing and analysis. Editing has been a big part of my time at college and is an area I find allows me to be the most creative when creating projects, using avid I was able to edit everything I needed in just one app, it was most useful when working on a sound foley exercise getting the precise points of movements to the sounds I had made myself in the radio room.
